Refugium off manifold or return?

Hey all, I am dry plumbing my basement sump and have my refugium running off my manifold ( The 1 inch valve in the second picture). I was wondering if it would be better to tee it off of the return just past the manifold.

As you can see in the first pic, the tank to the right is going to be the refugium so it might be easier to do that but i wanted to get other peoples thoughts.

What? I am running a separate sump and refugium so i have to run the refugium off of the return pump

Whatever is easier. Looks like your plumbing it all off of one pump so just do whatever is easiest to hook it up and disconnect if needed.

I would personally just T it off of the main line and add a ball valve to adjust the flow

The effluent from the refugium should be after mechanical filtration, else all the microfauna will be caught up before it gets to main display
