Refugium on a BB frag tank?

Howdy,

What if any would be the benefits of a refugium on a BB frag tank? I have a protein skimmer running and carbon bags...

I am having a small algae issue which is pegging my nitrates to zero. I've heard fuges help stop algae in display but I'm nervous it might just rip any nutrients left I have out

I don’t see it hurting it. You’re basically using it to outgrow the algae you see on your bare bottom.

It might be a case of algae either in the frag tank, or in the fuge.

I know Dana Riddle ran algae turf scrubbers & skimmers on the coral farm systems he managed years back, & he's a fan of scrubbers/algae filtration.
