refugium or vodka dosing?

I have done both carbon dosing and running a refugium. Carbon dosing will be more beneficial for reducing nitrates than phosphates. A refugium (in my experience) has done a better job with phosphate absorption, but it too will absorb nitrates at a faster level than phosphates. What I have found to be the most successful it targeting phosphates with lanthanum chloride with a refugium. My nitrates are definitely becoming a limiting factor so have completely stopped carbon dosing.
