Before or after skimmer?

I thought it was better to have after skimmer but then I've been looking at the Triton method and they have it before.

Is there a reason for this?

I've been thinking of adding a refugium to my Reefer 450 setup but not sure best way to go about it.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

A few options I was considering:

- Using one of my Aquamaxx reactors with LED wrapped

- I have one of the Elite Aquatics acclamation boxes... but that would sit right in the same skimmer section. Would I need to add some kind of powerhead to get some movement in that section?

- new setup altogether... just had a conversation about a Lifereef system... sump, skimmer and the refugium.

Thoughts?

Thanks

I believe it's skimmer after so that the skimmer doesn't take away from your refugium algae.
