Hello all i am in the process of adding a 20g refugium to my tank and i had a quick question in regards to plumbing. I am going to use one of my 3/4 overflows from my tank to drain down into the refugium and leave the other in the sump. This fuge will be a foot or so higher then my sump.

My question is, i have drilled 2 3/4 holes and installed bulkheads in the top side of the 20. Going from the bulkhead can i just 90 down into the sump, or do i need to use 3/4 T's and leave the top open for air to escape. I picked up two 90s already but got to thinking that maybe i should of grabbed T's. Maybe im just over thinking but what would you do. Wanting to prevent any chance of flooding.

You dont need "T" s. Drill a small hole just before the end of the pipes going into the sump above the water level. This will prevent any air from being trapped and causing a back up.
