refugium question

I am currently pumping water thru an ozone reactor and then thru a UV reactor to clean the water and remove the ozone. Will either of these two have any affect on the phosphate or nitrate in the water as it goes into my refugium? My fuge is really funky. Some kind of tan growth, chaeto won't grow, just wondering.

Any other symptoms? Ozone is a really complex ordeal in itself. Imo easy to misread and screw up.
Many don't run uv with fuges. It kills some organisms and bacteria the fuge needs to thrive. Depending on size and balance of each. My bet is that, or the macro has ellimiated the nutrients in the tank and starting to stave itself. Which is why I asked if you see any other symptoms. Detectable N and P?
