Leaving on the fuge light vs. opposite Schedule of display tank lights.
Any reason why people don’t just leave them on 24 7? What are the pros and cons to both? I’ve been leaving mine on 24/7. Should I or not. What’s generally accepted as the best approach and why

Imho reverse photo periods are best
The reason many people don't Run their light is out of wanting to stabilise pH as photosynthesis effects pH and if it is going 27/7 it won't matter if one light is off (DT or refugium)
Secondly some people run very strong lights on their refugium and if they ran it 24/7 they might burn their Marco algae

What happens when it burns? Just turns brown? Or gets brittle and falls apart? Cuz I been leaving mine on but I always hear of the on off method. My ph doesn’t seem to be affected

From memory it turns white and can release nutrients it adsorbed.
I think you will only see a change in pH if you where to test at say your peak light and the middle of your darkness period, most people only notice when they get a Moniter such as apex
