Anyone have any negatives regarding moving my skimmer to the front section of the reefer 750 Sump, and turning the entire back area into the refugium? I have been thinking about doing this for a couple of reasons, but mainly to get a bigger refugium area. This tank is a FOWLR with all big aggressive messy eaters. Please let me know. Cant find a lot of people online that have done it. thanks

I wish I knew for sure but I did this on my reefer 425XL. I split the large skimmer section in half and put skimmer first and refugium after it. It has been going ok for the last month or so. I have Chaeto growing and lots of pods. I don't have much stock in my tank so I can't say how well it is going to pull nutrients out but hopefully it will help somewhat. I wanted a refugium really badly so I thought it was worth it to at least try it this way. Good luck on yours.

Thanks, do you have a divider for a designated section? In my 450, I made a box out of egg crate that keeps my chaeto in place

Yeah - I used egg crate right down the middle of my sump and then black plastic mesh to try and keep the Chaeto from going anywhere I didn't want it. Old style sumps in reefer are hard to make one but I wanted pods so bad!
