An 8-gallon fuge on a 150g DT isn't going to do much for filtration IMHO. It might give good breeding ground for pods, but it's not likely to make much for export just because of its size relative to your DT. If you already have an ATO reservoir, it might be useful to figure out some kind of alternative use for it (and maybe a pod fuge is useful for you), but it won't export much by way of nutrients. If you could figure out how to do an ATS in that compartment, that would probably do more for export.

Mine is on a 210g. I do it mainly for pods and such to help feed the corals, but pull a lot of cheato off that ball.

For pod propagation, I think it's absolutely beneficial.

That's was my fear. I was looking for more of a nutrient fuge.
One question though, how many live pods actually make it through the impeller of death/return rollercoaster?

You can always put a cabinet next to your tank and put it there and plumb it in it will still look nice

My understanding is that if you're looking to maximize space in nutrient export, an ATS is much more efficient.

They don't really get harmed.

Absolutely it's worth the effort.

I made a little area in my sump for a fuge...

Is that a genesis water change system I see??? How do you like it?

It's a lazy person's dream.... actually, the wiring had my eyes crossed. The instructions are better labelled now-a-days, but when I got it, it was beyond frustrating.

I wouldn't bother with a fuge that size for nutrient export solely.
