...my refugium looks like a swampland...soooo, I've got red looking algae floating off the bottom (look like a bunch of tents on a campground)...then I have green bubble aglae growing in there (pulling stuff off the bottom with it's buoyant tendancies)...the Caulerpa appears to be spreading, however some of it is turning clear (or see-through) colored. I keep the refugium light on 24/7 and flow through the refugium is low-medium...does the condition of my refugium sound okay??...or do I need to correct something...any advice would make me happy !!!

Sounds just like mine. But I have a powerhead in mine to keep the flow blasted at the Caulerpa and Cheato. Thats where you want all the uglies.

I like as much flow going through my refugium as possible so water doesn't become stagnate. As for your light, I would put it on a timer so it's on when your display tank lights are off.

I put a small air stone in my chaeto to help move water in fuge part, and have powere head et al in the sourounding of sump.

...thanks for all the advice guys!! Should I try and remove all the bubble algae ??

Try to remove what you can and add more flow. Maybe even add a small clean up crew. I only run fuge lights for 12 hours on a reverse cycle with my display.

Thanks Jeremy...any ideas why some of the caulerpa is turning clear colored ??

Yea, its dying. Your water really clean? or its not getting enough light.
The bubble algae, is it the black pearl style? Be careful removing that stuff, if you puncture it, your going to scream.

Yes...the water is clean...I have a light load with just 2 small clowns and 2 chromis in a 105 gallon.

Hey Tangboy...it looks much better...it seems to have stabilized. I removed some white frothy foam build up from the surface and took out some cyano...seems to be maintaining good now. Trying to let it do it's thing. The caulerpa is growing too !!!

...still having cyano outbreak in refugium, it's covering some of the caulerpa...not a bit of cyano in DT...I guess all is okay as long as it stays down there.

You have a powerhead in the sump for water movement? I'd recomend it.
