refugium with Chaeto

Is there any negative side affects to leaving my refugium light on 24/7?

Depends on your system and lighting I only use a biological and bag of carbon. If your running GFO, biopellets, large skimmer running 24-7 will do more harm. I ran mine 24-7 for few months and notice the color fading on the chaeto. I now run it 12-18 hours and find it grows far more dense and faster when given sometime to rest. this is closer to nature so why mess it up. Also, I suffer from low nutrients so running it 24-7 was not helping.

Ok yea I do have a skimmer in the system. I'll give 14 hours a try and see what happens
