Refugium

Just an FYI don't buy the new eshopps adv series I purchased one around Christmas and all in all its a decent sump but there is a design flaw that lets a lot of junk and build up pas through the sump that isn't supposed to here is a few pics to show what I'm talking about and I've been discussing this with them for about two weeks now and they will not do anything about it and I've used a lot of there equipment for years kinda makes me a little upset

No sump stays perfectly clean even when using filter socks. What allows more junk to accumulate in this sump compared to others? Could you provide more information? I see the junk around your skimmer, but my sump does the same thing over time. All my water passes through a filter sock...

That picture is my new m1 vectra and this thing has only been installed for less than a month if you look at the second pic the middle chamber is the refugium well the three slots in there is in the same chamber as the drain and not in the filter sick section there for the slots need to be moved over three to six inches to be in the same chamber as the filter sock so the debris can be filtered out with them being in the Same section as the drain a lot of the debris flows trough and into the return

Thanks for the clarification. I believe that many people run their refugium without a filter sock. I believe they prefer to have unfiltered water enter this area. Like you, I would probably want my water to go through a filter sock. I would bet that ESHOPPS designed the sump to have unfiltered water enter the refugium on purpose. They do not view it as a mistake or problem. Too bad you didn't notice this before you put the sump in place...

Well there r series has the three slots inside of the filter sock area idk I've never had a refugium look like this
