Hello all, I’m looking for a sump/refugium setup for my 60 gallon cube. I have been looking at the eshopps r-100. I would appreciate any feedback on your experience with your brand refugium. Please tell me why you like it

I have an Eshopps sump on one of my tanks that’s not too different, it’s the ADV-100. Good quality feel and has nice sized compartments, all I did was make some adjustments so I could swap the fuge with the skimmer chamber and I like it better this way. This is the only premade sump I’ve ever used and it’s quite nice, I like the brand a lot.

The refugium seems really small to be practical or productive. Take a look at the Trigger systems “Triton” sumps. I like them because the refugiums are around ~10% of the display volume which is the right size to at least be effective at removing excess nutrients. If your goal of the refugium isn’t part of the primary nutrient removal then I’d say it’s fine. I read one comment about the area where water passes under another section would be hard to clean if needed so think about that. I don’t think flushing out detritus from under there would be too much of a problem if you really must clean it. They seem like ok sumps.
