Refugium

I'm thinking about upgrading my tank when Petco has their sale. How do you set up a refugium? Can you put most of your equipment in there (filters, UV sterilizers, chaeto, etc.)?

I think you're combining terms. A sump is a remote tank plumbed to the main display for putting all your equipment.

A refugium generally speaking is a remote tank or space whether you put macro algae and other critters mainly for nutrient export that you don't want in your main display.

Some people combine the concept and have a refugium area in their sump.

Do you have a sump? Chaeto yes but filters, UV, etc do not typically go in a refugium.
