Refugiums for copepods: How?

Basically the header! I have a refugium/pump that I am currently not using. I want to build a copepod/algae refugium but don't know what I need to buy/set up for success. Do they need their own light if I keep it in the sump under the tank?

My refugium is ceramic rings and chaeto. I have an Amazon grow light that has been getting pretty good results.
