I'm needing to regain control after attempting to get rid of some algae via Fluconazole. I carbon dose (vinegar) and Nitrates were at 20 following 2 doses when I did a 20 gallon change on my 75g DT + 20g sump on Thursday. My phosphates are still <0.03, Nitrates 10, and (I think herein lies the issue) Alk is at 9.6. Usually my tank runs ULNS and alk around 7.9, but I bumped it up to account for higher nutrients. I'm still having some tissue loss on corals... should I bump it up higher? Raise my vinegar amount until Nitrates drop off?

Personally I would keep alk at normal levels and continue the normal vinegar dose.
Recuperation will take some time. So imo trying to chase the alk number will or could burn you later on. As you trying to manipulate two things at one.
