Hey all very excited for my regal to come!! Have a cycled 32 biocube up with live rock and stuff for QT as the regal is wild caught and only been with the seller 10 days. I was wanting to treat with sea chem paragaurd for the QT cycle unless the fish needs other meds or anyone has a better recommendation! Also I have baby brine shrimp hatching in the tank currently for food fresh out of the hatchery. Tank isnt treated yet, I know meds are toxic to them but I wanted the regal to have something to pick on when first put in the tank. Anyone have any suggestions? For food I planned on mixing mysis PE with live baby brine (more in the hatchary) and sponge and algae cubes as well to get the little one eating! Anyone have any tips? I want the fish to be eating frozen consistently before I move it from QT to my display (as well as disease free)

All my herbivores love TLF SeaVeggies green. I rubberband folded quarter sheets to a small rock.
I will for sure try that! I just want to be successful with this fish and have done. Lot of reading. The fish I am getting is 5-6 inches and wild caught which I know from researching is a challenge!

All my angelfish were originally wild caught (I have 2 regular and 2 dwarf at present) and they take to TLF SeaVeggies like Opra on a baked ham! :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Also I do have a dwarf yellow fin angelfish in the big tank. Smaller than an inch. Should I re home the smaller angel because of the regal or would it be fine with size difference? Willing to re home the little angel for success keeping the regal

They should be fine together. My dwarf and regular angels get along swimmingly.

Okay, I think this guy killed my coral beauty I put in at the same time. But the CB was significantly smaller than him.

You can have multiple dwarf angels in the same tank, but how well they get along depends on the tank size, rock scape, hiding spots and last but not least - individual fish personalities. I've had up to three (midnight, coral beauty and flameback).

I like your plan!
I had naturally growing sponge when I added mine which made life a lot easier. I just answered some questions about mine over here if you're interested!

Thank you! I will for sure give it a read. Ive got sponge growth in my 70 so I can pick from there. Also had a huge sponge over tank a zoa colony and pulled those out and froze them in tank water that Im going to try and see if the regal likes it! My blueface loved it before she passed from flukes ☹️

Sorry about the blue face but hopefully the regal will immediately take to that sponge.

Yeah I was really sad. She was beautiful and the angel I had my heart set on. But the regal was for sure close just couldnt afford one, reef beauties has a discount on them with the drawback being they are wild caught and adults.

Yeah. That was stopping me too but then my LFS got one with HLLE from some other hobbyist so they sold it to me for cheap. Luckily it took to my tank well and the HLLE disappeared!

Awesome! Yeah I healed a juv blue tang in the 32 before putting him in the main DT. Totally different fish!! I just want to do right by this angel so it can live a good life in my tank!

Thought I'd answer you here instead.
If you can find some rock with algae and spong on it for it to graze that will help give you some time while you acclimate it to regular foods. Do you know where its from? Indonesia, India, Red Sea?

Ive got a lot of algae and green hair algae in my QT tank. It was going to be a small coral only tank but never got around to it. And Im not sure where it comes from, I shot them an email asking! Is the difference in colors?

That sounds good. Where it’s from affects the color but also the health. Unfortunately Indonesian fish often go through more stressful collection and shipping.
