I love the regal angel but naturally I'm afraid to throw it in the reef. Has anybody had luck with one in an all sps system? Thanks

I've seen many of them kept successfully in SPS systems. Most people note problems with zoas or fleshy LPS if any problems at all.

I would suggest a quality Red Sea sourced one. The Indo collected ones don't fare as well in captivity. Just remember this is a fish that doesn't adapt easily to captivity so make sure it's eating captive food before you buy.

Definitely. There was an indo one today at premium but I'm gonna order a Red Sea one instead

Not all sps, but some with lps, softies (Xenia, gsp, button polyps), and 2 good size clams. No issues at all. My newly acquired foxface is more trouble, eating Xenia, but I'm not concerned with that. I intended to build my system around my regal, no matter what if needed.

Not fast, imo. He eats like a champ though. He was probably about 4 inches or so when received him last year.

These fish are so gorgeous and so tempting to add to reef tanks. I may get one just for my frag tank to see what happens.
if you know you can catch the fish in trap, then you can give it a shot.
