Hey guys, going on day two of having the regal. She is beautiful, and doesnt appear to be that shy. But she ate a few pieces of frozen day one but she hasnt really touched anything else. Ive tried live baby brine shrimp, clam on the half shell (looks like she might be picking at that, krill, mysis, algae, sponge and krill. She lets all the food fall to the bottom. Tank is a 32 biocube with sand and live rock, has a lot of algae which she picks at. Is this normal? I just want to do everything I can for her and get her to eat

Do you have any seaweed? My angels all go cuckoo for cocoa puffs with TLF SeaVeggies green (I wrap a folded quarter sheet with a rubber band to a small rock).
No I dont, I can order them though. Where do you usually get it?

I usually get my supply from my LFS but you can order it online from Amazon.
Cool! I actually just had to move her to my DT, my QT tank is having issues with the pump and stuff and theres no water movement. So hopefully that was a good move. She is exploring and stuff to so thats positive. Any tips for training her to eat in a DT? Biocubes are horrible by the way. Had nothing but issues with it!

Just the aforementioned seaweed rubber banded to a rock (seems to encourage immediate feeding as it comes naturally to them).

Sounds good, Ill add one as well. Ive got two clips for my tangs but it being on the rock for her makes a lot of sense. She is very active about the tank though

Clips are one of those artificial things that fish don't necessarily take to right off the bat.

Well hopefully you can get her to eat, such a beautiful fish. Now I have lots of wrasses, not a lot experience with them. I stumbled on to a product from Algae Barn called Dragon Roe. I am sure you might get simular results From Reef Nutrition at most LFS, Oyster Roe. Just in the DT with others eating just might do the trick, Also there is a debate that adding garlic. to food will get them to eat. It didn't work for me on some of my finicky wrasse. ( Leopards). but I like garlic to help them ward off pest. Good luck hoping for sucess.

Garlic does work and helps them overall. I also use Brightwell AminOmega and Selcon.

Ah okay thank you, will check that product out. I got my first real wrasse (have a few cleaners) in the same shipment as the regal, its a melenarus wrasse! Very beautiful fish

Thats true, didnt think of that since my tangs just took to it!

Shes picking a little here and there but still isnt eating the food I feed the tank with. I add live baby brine in there too. She doesnt seem to be too nervous to be out in the open and seems to have made friends with my foxface
