Regal angelfish for sale

Hi everyone,
I’m currently selling my regal angelfish for $75. That is what i paid for it and i don’t want to make any money off of it. It unfortunately had flukes, but symptoms started to appear after i purchased him. He’s definitely a strong fish fighting every day, even gave it a freshwater dip. I currently don’t have quarantine which makes the process difficult. I would only sell the fish to someone who would have to time and necessary equipment along with the knowledge to treat flukes. Go to pet co and buy a 10 gallon tank, a small preset heater, and dig up a pump or power head. Your looking at $30 bucks for the system. Then while your there, grab prazipro. Follow the directions on the bottle. They only thing is you need to do a 5g water change each day to keep the ammonia down. Place the fish in the qt, dose the prazipro, change 5 gallons a day for 7 days and then dose prazipro again, wait 24 hrs, and your flukes have been irradiated. Buy a second set up and do tank transfer while your at it. Then you get rid of ich too.


If the concern is you can't find prazipro, then you can do a dip in diluted hydrogen peroxide. 6-7 days apart. If you were near by I would treat him for you and give him back. Flukes are easy to deal with. Fw dips are the hardest part of dealing with flukes. The treatment is much easier imo.

I didnt think a 10 gallon tank would be enough room for him but now that you mention it it would probably be a better situation than keeping him in the display tank, I really appreciate your generosity. I’ll do that to see if i can get him better asap.

I use 10g for all my new fish. I put a regal angel a little larger than yours through ttm in 10g tanks about a year ago. No issues what's so ever. He was happy the whole time. Just make sure you change 5 gallons a day or the ammo is will creep up. Remember the tank isn't cycled so you have to step up with water changes.


Now the wrench in the whole plan is that once the fish is in your display with flukes, you have to assume that the whole display now has flukes. Treating the angel and putting him back into the display will cure the angel but reinfect him when he goes back into the display.

Prazipro is safe to use in reef tanks. Only concern is if you have feather worms. I have used this in my mixed reef and never lost anything. Corals were a little angry looking for a few days, but recovered fast.

I have a 29 gallon I fill with 20 gallons. I use a large sponge filter and Dr tim's bacteria and almost no spike in ammonia. I reset it up all the time when I get new fish. Got hit with Ick once and wont let it happen again. I like cuppermine for new fish. Prazi for the flukes for sure.

Agreed with the 10 Gallon tank plan. Adding bacteria such as Biospira largely helping bring down ammonia. My regal is doing very well with Prazipro, and also coppersafe (as cupramine kills my fairy wrasse, so I abandoned it). Good luck with your beautiful fish!

Flukes really shouldn’t be a problem to get rid of. A few FW dips and you should be clear. You likely have them in your display now though so you’ll want to treat the display.

Good luck. Be prepared to do water changes every few days in a 10g. Even a treatment in a 5g bucket with an airstone and heater will work for a few days, but ammonia spikes in QT can be deadlier than flukes.
