I picked up a tang this past Saturday and i can't seem to get it to eat. I've tried the following foods

I even placed a sheet of nori in the tank this morning and I can't seem to get the tang to eat. Maybe it's eating when I'm not looking?

I've also noticed that it likes to act strange. It'll stay right behind the powerhead or wedge itself under a return pump (using pump to run a chiller).

and ideas what i should try next to get it to eat?

How did you place Nori in the tank? clip? because they can spook new fish, esp baby hippos.

rubberband it to a small chunk of rock instead of a clip.

Pictures? size?

The tang is currently in QT. I'll try rubberbanding the nori to a piec of rock tonight, the tang is small, 1-2"

At that size I'd recommend you constantly have a small square of nori RB'd to a rock available to it in the tank, replace everyday.
They can die of starvation very quickly at that size.

can't figure out why it wont eat. the yellow tang eats everything i throw in the tank.

4, 2 tangs, 2 anthias. all of the fish seem to get along fine.
