Regenerating actovated carbon in the microwave

Maybe the carbon has bits of metal in it? It makes like a popping electrical.

it may be a conductive enough solid material to cause the issues like a metal does.

I wonder if the "sparks" might not be from metals, but instead microwave resonances - like when microwaving grapes generates plasma.

Doesn't carbon pull out toxins, waste, etc from the water column? If so, then couldn't it pull out palytoxins which would be released while microwaving? That is what I would concern me the most.

Its definitely something you might want to do outdoors and away from the wind direction when you open it.
