Regret the size you chose?

Yes somewhat . Would have been nice to have 1 200 gallon instead of having an 80 gallon and a 90 gallon setup.
But it’s fun having one tank on each side of room.

I think you will find that most people wish that they would have gone bigger. The only "too large" issue that I've had is having a tank that is 30" deep. For future tanks I will try to stay closer to 24". In addition to the greater lighting requirement to get to the bottom of the tank, the maintenance and aquascaping demands were less enjoyable because of the difficulty in reaching everywhere.

The thing is I started small to get the ok from wifey and then all of a sudden we need a bigger tank to fit all the amazing corals we have. So we got a second tank twice the size. Pretty soon that one will be full and grown and we will need yet again another larger tank.

So you see....start small and end up where you wanted to be hahahah

i am starting a 30, in order to get the go ahead, years ago i started with a 75 with no experience and it did not go well, so i got the go ahead for a small one

I’d say you did it right. I have a 125 dt and a 100g sumo. U gotta have room for your filtration. And fromwjat I can see that extra water outside of the display is y the display tends to look amazing.almost like the tip of the iceberg (although it quite the ratio) cuz it seems people with big displays but small refugiums have a harder time keeping parameters right

Heard smaller is harder for less experienced reefers man

Got back into the hobby after 18 years. Started with a 25 nano cube. Had it for 2 years.
Have a 3 month old 120 now.
Only thing I wish I would have done was to not put it up against the wall and instead made it a peninsula.
The 120 is a nice size.

I started small with a 5 gallon freshwater. I upsized to a 45 gallon reef. I wish I could go bigger, but with my budget, I think it’s the right size.

I made my stand too tall, and my arms are too short to reach across the tank on the back. I love the size but it needed to be a peninsula for me to reach the front and back for cleaning. 48"x28" 18" deep.

Well yes and no. I couldn't find a nice used 240-300 but I was able to buy back my old 180 which is a good size for maintenance and gives me time to find a nice 8 footer.

Yes. I had tanks 18 yrs ago - started with a 60 gallon reef then replaced with a 120g FOWLR. Dumb me got a 32 gallon biocube this time (after maybe 14 yrs without a tank). My lovely open concept house had no good walls for a tank so I got what would fit. I think I could’ve gotten a custom peninsula tank twice the size in the space though. Oh well. It’s super easy to do water changes!
