Regular Green Mushroom just doesn't grow...

I have a candy cane (caulastrea) and a regular green discosoma (don't know the species) in my tank since April or March and the Mushroom has barely grown at all while the candy cane has grown an extra head and a lot more tissue. Do mushrooms need something special to grow? Do I need to cut it in half to propagate it? I love the fluorescent color and texture and wouldn't mind having more...

I'll try putting it in some shade, it's been on the substrate but I could go darker under some rock overhangs

thats where mine are, under rock over hangs. Best of luck!

Do your research on this but I think shrooms love iodine
