Regulator for calcium reactor

I am curious, I brew my own beer and I have multiple co2 tanks as well as spare regulators for the kegerators. My question is, could I use a spare regulator and transform it to work with a calcium reactor?

Depends, how accurate and stable are they? Easy to adjust, know the rate of CO2, and keep stable over long periods of time? These things are very important to run and keep a CalRx. I assume you plan to keep stony corals, possibly acros and RO keep them well they require a very stable CalRx in order to keep Alk/Cal/Mag stable.

Aquarium Plants.com The Carbon Doser is seen by most as the regulator that if best for these applications because it does the functions I listed above very well. It does cost but if you want success with corals you need good equipment to keep good stable water all the time.

I have been researching this a bit since I will be getting a calcium reactor next year. The best way to go is a Carbon Doser or a stainless steel dual stage regulator (Most of these are DIY for ~$200-300 unless you want to spend over a grand retail). From what I have read single stage regulators or all brass regulators are not reliable. I have read a bunch of instances were cheap regulators have caused a CO2 overdose to take place or the cheap regulator would not stay properly adjusted over time causing more issues with stability that impacted the corals. I am leaning towards using the Carbon Doser when I get a calcium reactor next year.
