I added a small pajama cardinal 2 weeks ago, after doing my research. My adult and big banggai cardinal is not chasing it aggressively but will give it a nudge when it gets out of its corner. It’s not keeping it from eating though, which is a good thing.

I read it was okay to have both in tank so I wasn’t expecting this. At first it was following the banggai around but it stopped after a while. The banggai and kole tang are buddies and often swim together. I only have those three fish and a firefish that doesn’t come out much for now.

Here is what the tank looks like. The baby pajama stays in the top right corner so you can’t see it. It only comes out to eat.

Should I rehome it ?

I put a baby, I mean like centimeter long, cherub angel in my QT tank that currently has a female maroon clown, a baby clown Im trying to pair, and two damsels. One is cool the other is an ******, so he is in a no no box. But my little angel was terrified and would freak out when my maroon came up to her (not aggressive). But its been a little now and shes moved to a spot in the rock work and comes out and swims. Maybe this little guy needs some time?? If he is a baby the other big fish might scare him!

I hope time will help. It’s only been 2 weeks and I find that in general, fish take at least 4-6 weeks to get comfortable.

But if not, I’ll just find another way. My tank is very peaceful though so not easy to find something more suited, unless I find a peaceful one without a banggai in it.
