Rehoming fish question

I understand why people buy fish that will outgrow their tank simply because they want them and "plan" to upgrade later on but for those people who buy them and intend on rehoming them once to big why do they sell them. Imo I feel that if you buy a fish that will outgrow your tank you should give it away since you need to find a more appropriate home for it instead of having someone pay you for your mistake.

I don’t see it as a mistake because(if I read it right) you are intentionally buying a fish you need to rehome later and because you planned to in the first place you technically didn’t make a mistake. I don’t have anything against someone if they sell the fish. It’s hard to see it go and a person who’s paid money for the fish is more likely to take care of it. I hate burning my money so I try to keep things alive. You’ve also done a lot of work by adjusting it to captivity. This hobby isn’t cheap and if you can recoup some money to put back in to your tank, go for it. But if you have a trustworthy friend, give it away if they don’t want to pay. It’s better to do right by the fish.

imo i dont see it as a mistake if they planned on selling it once too big. i dont see how it is different from upgrading to a larger tank later, they did upgrade the fish to a larger tank later, just not their own
