Hello everyone! My sister's 5 gallon has perfect parameters, yet its corals and other sessile life are not doing very well. The reason? Sand. I forget which brand of live sand I bought for it, but it's so fine and dusty that it keeps partially burying everything in the tank. This tank is going to need a redo at some point...I would just do bare bottom, but there's a pistol shrimp and a Wheeler's shrimp goby in there. Are there any sands - live or otherwise - that aren't so fine and aren't as prone to burying things? Thanks

Look into Tropic Eden sand.... very clean, different sizes available... just another option.

+1
Tropic Eden has like 4~5 different grain sizes that you can purchase and it's very clean compared to Carib Sea sand when rinsing.

For my nano tank I thought the Caribsea special grade was more than adequate. For my bigger tank, where flow will be really cranked up, I prefer Tropic Eden Reef Flakes.
