Reliable, basic heater?

I purchased an Aqueon Pro 100 w for my 32 gallon biocube (water volume 25ish gallons). It does not work well at all. I have an Ink Bird controller but it still just doesn't work well, and not sure it actually works at all (since it's not all that cold in my house).

Looking to replace. I don't need one with control since I have the Ink Bird, but want one that is dependable and not super expensive. Would probably opt for the 150w this time. The Aqueon has a lifetime guarantee, so I'll probably ask them to replace it and can keep it for salt mixing or backup.

Jager made by Ehiem. Get two smaller ones instead of one big one. So if you need 150 watts of heating get 2 75 watts. If one fails the other keeps heating. For added security add a controller of some type. I don't as of now.

Any particular model? I may have to go with what I can get locally as I don't think the heater is working at all now. Stupid thing!

Depends on how much heating capacity you need. I usually go for the 250 watt model. I have 10 of them in my 700 gallon system.

Cobalt stealth’s are supposedly wonderful ( I plan to get them myself when I can) and sometimes are easily available. Finnex titanium’s are decent as well.

I also think it’s a good idea to replace your heaters on a yearly basis because they are unreliable.
