Hello,
If your looking for a reliable dc pump I use two of the 3100 gph current eflux dc pumps. Couple of nice things about them are:
1.) actually affordable I think 213 each
2.) extremely quiet and I can’t even hear mine and I have two in one sump
3.) The warranty and customer service is beyond top notch and Current Usa are amazing to work with.
4.) They are Bluetooth compatible which is nice because you don’t have to spend tons of money on a separate controller.
5.) Easy to clean, yet if you forget such as I have done, they still work like new.
6.) I use two of them in my 240 one per overflow for my own reasons. But they are powerful enough that, I only run them at 20% and my tank is 34 inches tall. If I turn them up to 50% my overflows simply can not keep up.
Remember just because it has a fancy name, and or expensive price doesn’t mean it’s any better. In most of the aquariums I have been in, most of them don’t run the high end overly priced ac or dc pumps. One of the best ac pumps I have used was by Eihiem, yet it was also louder than a Saturn five rocket taking off. These definitely have the means to move some water in your tank.
Sincerely
Sarah
