Does anyone know where one can get a Mame overflow? All I see are ebay listings.

I highly suggets you just drill a custom tank or do not do that. It is an expesinve floor flooder.

i've kept marine tanks sense the mid 1970s, seen plenty of HOB overflows that have been in use for multiple decades without a single hiccup and plenty of drilled tanks that have overflowed for various reasons. the Mame are very reliable and their all glass design makes for a very clean looking installation verses the typical HOB, especially on a smaller tank and/or rimless design.

I would support using a Lifereef HOB overflow as well. I use CustomeAquarium Overflows in aproperly drilled tank with no issues either. I never witnessed a properly drilled tank overflowing but certainly possible.

A snail or fish is screens and a partial restriction can be handled if well installed. If you go this route be sure sump pump matches this device carefully. A single snail can clog this.
