Reliable places to find high-end BTAs?

I'm wondering where those of you with high-end anemones found yours.

In particular, I'm interested in the following in order:
1. Black Widow BTA
2. Rainbow BTA
3. Sunburst BTA (Colorado, Chicago, etc)

Since I'm in Chicago, Chicago sunbursts are available at LFS, but I'm not sure where to look for others. I certainly haven't seen a black widow in a LFS, and searching online doesn't produce any success.

The selling forum here is probably going to be your best bet.

There is a seller who just posted a black widow. The others can easily be found on there too with a little searching. It’s where I’ve purchased all of mine.

Not sure of your plan but I would NOT recommend keeping a ColoradoSB in the same system as those other two. My experience with that has almost cost me my ColoradoSB and Supernova. My ColoradoSB still isn’t out of the woods.

Definitely keeping just one type. Haven't decided exactly what kind. Was going to be a mix of aesthetics, availability, price I suppose. Purely preference-wise the black widow BTA is my top choice atm.

I'm still waiting out and letting my tank mature as well, so this is kind of a shopping info dive for me.

That’s cool. The Black Widow is nice, I quite like mine. I’d search the sellers forum when you’re ready. It will be your best bet.

Random question, when it’s stated that they shouldn’t be kept in the same system, does that mean the same tank, or the same water? I am asking because I have three tanks plumbed in to the same sump. Ideally, I would love to have two different nems in each cube on the ends.

Same system is hit or miss with most anemones. Running carbon can help increase success.
Colorado’s definitely in their own system.

i highly recommend you don't mix then together, if you can have a separate tank for them do it bc even though it looks like you do have tem in separate tanks but using the same sump all it takes is for them to have a chemical warfare but some ppl have done it but you better be running UV and ALOT ALOT of carbon but me i wouldnt risk it


buying wise check on here for some and some groups on FB but with CSB and chicagos make sure they are legit CSB and find linage also if you can

Some good points from Cameron Hill on Facebook Sunburst Anemone Society:

There are at least 5 different species of BTA. We don't know which is which, or which fight with which.. Then there are studies that show wild population of the same nem fighting with each other. Then there is the possibility of introducing a bacterial infection from a sick nem. Then there is the internal bacteria in one nem that other nems aren't used to, which can kill a nem that has never seen that specific bacteria. None of this matters, if you just do tank specific.
