Reliable skimmer?

Anybody know of any reliable skimmers that won't break the bank? Upgrading this summer to a 36 bowfront with a 30 gal sump. Links would be very much appreciated!

Take a look at the reef octopus nwb-110. I run it on my frag system that is about 40 gallons. It's a great skimmer and very reasonably priced. Also look into the bubble magus skimmers I have heard very good reviews on their product.

Now, now. Have you ever run one with the mods on it? I have one, and I have a new pump with mesh mod on it, and would put it up against any normal Reef Octopus out there, not to mention quite a few others. They will work, just not the way the come in the box. Thats why I linked how to make it work better. For the price, you can't beat a couple of upgrades to it.

+1. You may save a little money at first until you realize it's no good and buy another skimmer. I have first hand experience....lol

Nothing I sell is Junk, as anyone that has ever purchased from me. This is an old skimmer yes but has been used for several years as a perfectly decent backup skimmer for a 180. Im sorry you don't like them.

My vote for $150 would be the SCA-302 on ebay. I just bought a used 301 for $70 and love it. The SC is a bubble mag knock off, but works amazing. Also check the reviews on them. Tons of them out there and not 1 problem.
