you first marveled before a simple pink-tipped anemone? First saw a one dot foxface and just had to take it home? Knew nothing about PAR but were fascinated by how led fixtures made the Colors pop? If so this post is addressed to you! Here’s my situation: after roughly 200 hours of YouTube videos from BRS to DIY fish keepers to top 10 sps light fixtures I got the following equipment: a 65g as QT I’ll be slowly dosing up copper in, a Cadlights Versa 2 92g system and a fluval evo XII for Frags. Got rocks sand skimmers you name it. But what should my budget friendly 4 feet light be? I’m looking for links please haven’t made it this far to turn back but don’t want to break the bank any further. Technical light talk aren’t up my alley yet & all I know about corals is I want some! Thanks a bunch, I need a pause from YouTube @.@

Are you looking for budget lights for Coral QT or a Fish QT or Both?

Budget friendly as I care for health of fish and corals but not into impressing neighbors

Cheap Black boxes are ok I guess.

Mars aqua , vita spar and SBreeflight are some of the well known brands. Quite powerful as well. Range from 80-130 each.
With WiFi to program them is about 160-250 each I believe.

Thanks, are aquaticlife edge reef fixtures any good? I’ve seen very few reviews on them and they’re budget friendly. I got high hopes for these rocks currently cycling in QT

I’ve seen them around. Lower powered and may limit what you grow. If you can fit two on the tank I’d do that.

I bet you @Flippers4pups can tell you that the ol black box LEDs do just fine :)

Yep, they are good to go.

I can grow just about anything I wish with them. Softies, LPS and SPS (montipora, acropora, digitata.....)

Oh, if AI Prime HD x2 (enough for 4 feet?) would give me similar results I’d buy them instead since they end up being cheaper. Though I don’t know how these perform either...

Thanks! Finally can order and be done with it ... last question: 10 or 12 hours lighting?
10 ish would be best with that lamp.
If you get the WiFi ramping models you can run longer. They let you run a very dim blue only for the first few hours and the last few. Let’s you see the tank and coral pop but not enough to overlight them.

Agreed. Ya you dont want to burn/bleach the corals.
Oh and dont feel like you are asking too many questions. The stupidist question is the one you dont ask, or something like that
