Remote ATO refill pump, voltage drop

Just did my test fill, float is about 5gal level, I had the check timer set for 1920sec and the fill rate is faster then my calculated 1g/8min, I did about 4g in 26min or 1g/6.5min. My next run through I am going to lower the check frequency to 1420sec, calculated is 1560sec but going a little lower and see how that runs, will have to wait a week and half for the ATO container to get low or if I am impatient I can siphon some out and test again. :)

This works like a treat, basically using ATO function to refill the ATO, the question I have rumbling through my mind is do I want to have it run automatically or do I want to manually kick it off. Basically if I have the check timer set for 1420 secs (about 24min) then it will not check again until that timer expires, the float is low hince the long run time to fill up 4 gallons, and should be back up at 8min but with the long timer it wont check until that timer is up. I've been running my ATO the same way but the check frequency is much lower, every 20 seconds and my turn off is around 40 if it for whatever reason runs to long. I have the cutoff set for this one also but it's after the initial 24min run. The only failure that I can see with this setup is if for some reason the float triggers an on condition when its really not at the right level.

That is my concern right now with the long run times, the other option is to raise the float and to reduce my on time but still run the risk with that also since it takes about 6min for 1 gallon of water. Right now I just have it alerting and will trigger it manually, maybe I will run it that way for a period and see how it goes, still a big improvement vs having to lug water around. :)
