My tank is in the corner of the room on a angle and the basement is right next to the wall, it is only like a 1’ drop as it’s a quad level. My question is if I put the uv in the basement and run it thru the wall to the sump, would I need to just upsize them pump to get the flow to travel or is this a crazy idea? It would only be maybe 2ft from the sump to the uv

only reason to do this is the UV won’t fit in the stand

In all likelihood the pump you have in mind anyway— especially if it’s variable speed— will be plenty to push the water an additional 12” up and still have enough punch for the flow rate you are looking for.

There are head loss calculators that tell you exactly how much you add given your plumbing diameter. I would venture that you will barely notice an additional 1 foot of vertical head pressure.
