Hi
i have some smaller corals that i have on my rock that the fish keep knocking off
i will want to be able to move them around as they grow or if redo aqua scap etc.
I could glue them but will that be hard to get them off when i need to move them?
is the a putty or such that will hold them in place but can also be removed?
thanks
mark

oh so total different story underwater , ok thanks, also is any gel labelled cyanoacrylate ok to use?

The Gel sets well underwater but you are generally bonding to something covered in detritus. A light clean of the surface with a toothbrush would likely help (I haven’t done that myself so just guessing).

I believe any brand of Cyanoacrylate is fine. I use Coral Gel myself.

The secret is to put a little glue on your finger, rub it on the rock where you want to put the coral. This gives the glue something to stick to. THEN put glue on the bottom of the frag, press it onto the rock for 10 seconds. Done.

Best glue is at the dollar store, $1 for two tubes...

If I want to be able to remove a frag from the rock in the future I will use just glue alone. If I want to make sure the frag stays put I use a combo of the putty and glue. I cut off the stalk from the plug add a few drops of glue, roll the putty into a small ball and flatten it out press it into the glue on the plug then add some more glue to the putty and press the frag down onto the rock. The putty conforms to the rock and gives the glue more surface to bond to. Although a lot stronger than just glue alone it can still be removed if needed with a little more effort.
