Removal from frag plugs

Took two of my frags off their plugs today.... But they've retracted and about an hour later still not come out. Will they be ok or are they damaged irretrievably? I literally worked them off with my thumb, they came off easily and cleanly but now seem super unhappy can I do anything??

the algae is an issue.
that will keep them closed.

Personally I keep them on the plug and cover it with aqua scape epoxy as close as possible to the coral depending on what they are, mushrooms and zoanthids are difficult to do that to, so I just leave the disc exposed why do you take them off the plugs?

The zoa was already partially closed due to the GHA, the Kenya tree wasn't at all though

Dip the zoa in 3% hydrogen peroxide for 60 seconds and rinse. Maybe with the Kenya tree to I just don’t know how they are with peroxide. Should take care of most if not all the algae.

they should be fine.
i cut most of my plugs down, except some zoas so there's a height difference between types for when they grow out.
leathers i cut branches off existing for new frags. so yours will be fine.
