i recently aquired a 5 gallon jug that I was going to use for storing my RODI water for top offs, etc. I was told that water was kept in the jugs but they added chemicals to keep the water “fresh” ( it was sealed with a lid). I opened it and it smelled like they had put chlorine in it. I have been rinsing it out with cold water for the last couple hours but it still has a smell. How do I remove the smell and any other chemicals that might have seeped into pores of the container? Thanks.

It is never worth the $ you may save vs what $$$ you may lose.
