My tank is 5 months old and a couple of months ago had an algae bloom, which I kind of expected.

Now, things seem stable, and the algae is not appearing anymore on the glass as it was before. But, now my live rocks are covered in dark green, I did try to use a toothbrush but that had little effect.

What can I do to get rid of it? thanks!

Pictures would help. At this stage I would expect dark green that doesn't come off with a toothbrush to be the beginning stage of coralline but there is no way to say for sure.

Just leave it. Eventually it should be all covered with coralline algae. For me it took over a year for coral algae to start showing up. On one of my tanks I did use bleached rock and doses this: Coralline Algae in a Bottle + Nitrifying Bacteria for Saltwater Aquariums, Pink Fusion Strain .

Not sure if this helped at all or if it was the time but 4 months later coralline algae started appearing in the tank.
