I started this tank (Reefer 250) on 7/1 with wet gulf rock dark cured for 30 days. Since then I have decided to go 100% SPS and have loaded it with frags. It's had fish (5) for about 45 - 60 days now. I can't seem the get the flow exactly how I think it should be. I am using 2 Nero 5s on the back wall and 2 Reefwave 45s on the sides. The sand has settled in in the back 4/5ths of the tank with the front 1/5th bare bottom due to flow. So far the only thing I have that comes and goes is periodically a visit from diatoms. I know more is likely to come, but this is where I am at. I'd like to pull this apart and rip the sand out of the tank, but what damage would that do at this point? I removed the stock sump and put a 20L in as I added a Reefmat 500 and RS's crappy idea of fitting this left an already less than ideal sump even in far worse shape. Doing so I picked up so sump floor space. Could I relocate gravel to my roller/skimmer chamber to serve as the bio function and eliminate any worry of its removal at this stage? Thoughts?
