Remove strainer on jbj 45

I can tell they should come off, but I’m not sure how the clips work. The intank floss holder needs to be put on with the strainer removed. I’ll email intank as well, but this should be so easy….
It’s the older rounded glass model, but i doubt that matters.

I have the same tank (rounded front) they are glued on.
I used a putty knife and carefully worked the front and back of those things and they eventually pop off. Just take your time because that center black plastic part will want to move if you press too hard.
I have an intank filter holder and I dont have to remove the strainers on mine...

I have the intank filter floss holder and the 3 tier media holder. Neither fit with the strainers in. Can you send me a pic of yours? Or maybe describe how you get them around the ledge on the back of the strainer?

not sure if you can see, but as soon as it hits the silicone, it won’t go any further. In the pics, it’s pushing the ledges and the whole back plastic wall forward.

I can try to get a picture tonight of what I have. It came with the tank when I bought it second hand. Its maybe the three tier holder? I just slide it in and out without removing those teeth. I had removed mine for testing a 3d printed filter holder I made.
