So I have removed all my old rock, due to leaching. Yeah I did not let my rock cycle long enough. So over the past two months I have removed all my old rock and replaced it. I have kept all the old rock and it’s currently in a trash can. I want to save it for my 100 gallon cube.

My question is should I take the rock out of the water and let everything die. Or should I keep it cycling? Thanks.

I'd keep it cycling in the trash can if possible. Do some big water changes. Keep it heated. Big strong powerhead swirling the water around constantly.

I have a had a small power head and a heater in there but I will get a bigger one. And do more water changes.
