Happy Friday Everyone!

I have Three blue-green chromis in my 65g. One is small and hangs out by the gyre by himself because the other two will pick on him if he comes out in the main water-column.

A couple questions-

1.) if i remove the small on, will one of the other two become dominant and pick on the remaining chromis?

2.) Would an LFS take a fish from my system? What's the best way to give away a fish?

Thanks!

I would call the LFS and see if they will take the fish. Not sure what other fish you have in your tank but I have one BG Chromis and he seems happy with my other fish. From what I have read is you need several so no one can really establish dominance. Less than 5 is asking from trouble from what I found out.

I have a midas blenny, a false perc and the 3 chromis. They all get along. Only the two large chromis pick on the small one. The other two swim around with each other and get along w/ the blenny and clown

Think of tetras with these guys . They are a schooling fish with one being dominant. There also have a pecking order . The more fish to spread the aggression over the less harassing of each individual fish. That's what Ive seen in my five. The last two may fight it out and you'll be left with one .

They can do very well with just I .

Most likely, yes. They tend to do fine in a larger group if stressed such as in a small LFS tank or in a large system with aggressive fish. Otherwise, they will pick on the weakest one until there is only one remaining.

Can't hurt to ask. Some will, some won't, one by me changes their policy regularly.

hmm okay so maybe the move is to remove two. I like the little one... i was in my filter sock for 3 days and made it out alive!

Ive 5 in a 75 g system for three years a is going well
