Hi, bought two aquaforest af 90 media reactors. They have a 16 mm hose connector glued. The plan is to hard plumb the reactor to the manifold. So i will have to remove the glued hose connector. Any suggestions?

Though about doing the same. Though saw a YouTube for another idea where a guy wormed up the drill bit and insert it inside the hose connector. let it sit for about 90 seconds then the joint was soft like a hose, the he removed itI would drill them out with the proper bit to match the OD of the pipe that is glued in.
Mmmm this is a cool idea. My issue is that I was planning to have the reactor hanging from the manifold. Just hard plumbing the top of the reactor cover straight up to the manifold.Personally, I would leave the hose barbs and install quick disconnects, so the reactors would be a snap to remove and replace. I did this on mine and the reactors are only seconds from being disconnected from the system for maintenance.

At one point, have you thought of a dremel tool.Though about doing the same. Though saw a YouTube for another idea where a guy wormed up the drill bit and insert it inside the hose connector. let it sit for about 90 seconds then the joint was soft like a hose, the he removed it
My concern is the joint in the middle. You see the ring around it, a bit afraid to damage it if my hands were not steady enough
Let me search my tools I keep buying stuff when they are on sale even if I don't them on that time knowing I'll need it one day.At one point, have you thought of a dremel tool.
I like the socket way, I would do that,if meLet me search my tools I keep buying stuff when they are on sale even if I don't them on that time knowing I'll need it one day.
Is it similar to this tool in the link

I'm considering this method also. Saw the video and now feeling its doable and might be easiest way.I have unglued Multiple times pvc fittings. I find an old socket that will fit the inside diameter of the pipe with a little bit of gap. Heat the socket up not cherry red but good and warm. Put it in the fitting and using a flathead screwdriver I keep pressing the pipe away from the fitting until it is "rubbery" all the way around. Remove the socket and the use the screwdriver to work the pipe away from the fitting walls into the center. it will pull away from the fitting wall cleanly and then grab it with pliers and pull it out before it hardens. I have had bad glue joints with small leaks on spears gate vales and done this with absolutely no issue. I make sure to clean and prime the fitting well before I reglue.
I got the idea. Don't bother to make a videoIf I had 5 minutes I would post a video right here showing the process. it really is simple and totally works. Don't use your best SnapOn sockets to do this as the pvc will melt a bit on it. I just used some old crappy deep sockets. Make sure to leave a bit of the pipe so you have an easy edge to press in on and test. Once you see the pvc is soft all the way around pull the socket out and start working the pvc pine in. 5 mintes and your fitting is reusable.
. I totally know how finding a 5 mins would be impossible sometimes. I bought my tank 14 months ago and all what ni managed to do so far is aquascap
.I wish I had known what this tool was called about a month ago. I needed to put an offset toilet flange in a concrete floor. I saw a video of a guy using one, but he never said what the tool was.Socket Saver

Hi does this fitting you are describing go over a barb hose fitting? If so what am I looking for.Personally, I would leave the hose barbs and install quick disconnects, so the reactors would be a snap to remove and replace. Will that seriously work? Without melting the acrylic?Heat gun
