I have a couple maxi minis in a smooth collection container. I want to pull them to place on my reef. Any idea how to remove them without hurting the foot? Steady pressure? Ice cubes? They are in a small critter keeper.

If the container is smooth, which it is in a collection container, you can use an ID or old credit card and slowly work the crad between the foot and the cup. Don't use a slicing motion. Just use steady even downward pressure. The nem should slowly detach unharmed.

EDIT: I don't like the ice cube method because you are putting a cold object against a warm object. This could stress the nem out.

I've always just used my gloved finger. I would be afraid of a credit card slicing the foot.
