removing a maxi mini nem from rock

As the title says I've been attempting to move my maxi off the rock, I've tried the powerhead, ice cube and even suspended him upside down out of water for 30 minutes to no avail. I even tried peeling him off and got a corner of him up but he started bleeding so I paniced and stopped. He pretty stressed but I need him off the rock. He's the last thing I need out before my upgrade. Does anyone else have any tricks or tips I could try?

Tony they can be a real pain! Me and my buddy tried getting one off of his rocks at one point and basically had to mutilate it to get it off. It survived though. Are you selling it or something? How big a rock is it? Can you take a hammer and screw driver with the rock out of the tanks and chip off a piece that he is connected to?

That's how I usually do it. If they aren't on the glass I chisel the rock out from underneath.

Why can't you just use the rock he is on in your upgrade? I read that if the foot tears a little that they will still be fine. I know they do not like high lighting so you might want to put him closr to the light and see if he starts to move!

I'm going to do a muriatic acid dip on the rocks, they are full of bad things lol. Ill have to see what I can do tonight. I know they were Hardy just not as much as they apparently are. Thanks for the ideas so far guys!

I used the pipette from my refractometer....Getting under him, and working him...Also used a power head...Kinda ****** him off a bit, and he let go.. Took 20 mins, but came off, and is doing well on another rock...Good luck

They are a pain, mine has his foot deep in a cave of a large piece of lr. Too bad he is not on the glass, removal is easy then. GL!

The pipette is a great idea!!! I didnt about that! I'm worried he is going to attach himself to the rock in the holding tank, ill have to take it out lol. Thanks so far everyone! Lets keep the ideas rolling one of them has to work lol!

Well after a 2 hour and 15 minute battle yesterday I am thankful to post I got him off the rock. I was very worried he wasn't going to make it because of how rough I had to get, not to mention the rock slipped at one point and I smashed him on the edge of the tank. But he has attached to the glass of my holding tank already and other than looking stressed as heck looks like he will pull through! I wound up using my finger a power head the screw driver and pipette from a refractometer a syringe and a dental tool looming device from my dads frag kit in case anyone was wondering lol.
