I don't know about dipping GSP, but hydrogen peroxide degrades very quickly when exposed to any light. That is why it normally comes in brown bottles, but that is 3% and exactly what you would use. I personally would not buy that bottle though. I only buy it in brown bottles. I had a white bottle once and it did not do what I needed. Remove gross stains from mattresses in a hotel.

Cool thanks for the advice would you say with the lighting issue if i was to do. should i do it in a dark room
thanks

depending on how bad the algea is. Sometimes you can get away with blasting it with a turkey baister a few times a day.

Using it for this application, the lights will not affect it. If you have young kids spraying the mattress down with it and baking soda plus a drop of dishwashing liquid will remove yellow stains and then you need to leave the lights off and blinds closed.

Dipping it in a hydrogen peroxide will only temporarily fix the problem. Just some ideas but you could try moving the gsp lower and making sure snails / hermits can get to it to eat the algae also water changes and generally keeping your system cleaner. I’ve been through something similar. Also make sure you have the right type of inverts that will eat algae I think trochus or hermits would do the trick or maybe small ceriths? Not sure which inverts or crabs will eat algae
