I have finally gotten my 120g moved. Working on filling up the tank. (Note to self have alot more water ready before a move). But I am hoping to have the tank full by the next day.bmy question is how do I remove the algea on old plugs? Or how do you move frags off plugs. Here's a few pics. I know they aren't sitting up. I'm planning on cutting holes in thperware so the sit it today. But any help on moving or cleaning up the frags is appreciated

What I've done is removed them from the tank into a shallow bowl and scrub them with a soft bristle tooth brush and then find a snail and place it on the plug back in the tank. Usually only takes one time to get them cleaned off. Re-fragging them is a pain IMO.

I was afraid to scrub the frags with a toothbrush. Or do I just scrub around the frags?

Second the peroxide dip. Have seen multiple recommended solutions from 3:1 water to peroxide all the way to undiluted. I went with 50/50 for 3 minutes which did the trick. Took the zoas a little time to open, but no permanent issues.

H202 dip doesn't sound bad either. Salt water and h202 or can I do rodi? I have both just wondering.

Those would be getting H2O2 dip if it were me.

Do you need any rinsing or just put back in the tank? I have to get some panty hose for some carbon to help clean my water after the move so I'll grab h202 while out and dip them. It will be a couple of days before they go in the tank. It's in as much darkness as possible with ambient light to kill what's on the rocks. Never imagined 2 weeks away the hassle lol. Be in better shape in a week. I'll do a h202 dip or 2 and put back in holding tank.

Everyone prob does it a little differently. I put the frag in a container with tank water and slowly add peroxide until I see fizzing then let it sit 3-5 minutes, pull it out, give it a quick rinse and back in the tank. A little residual H2O2 isnt going to hurt your tank either way.

I put mine back in without rinsing. Haven’t observed any issues.
