I have a 29 gallon hospital I have been using to treat Ich with Cupramine. Now that we have FINALLY *hopefully* eradicated the Ich, I need to remove the copper from the water. I know this is done by a large water change and running carbon, but how big of a water change is safe AND adequate?
This tank and all equipment with it will forever be dedicated to fish only copper treatments. We have a separate QT for everything not requiring/sensitive to copper.
Fish still have 5 weeks to go out of main DT while it is running fallow.

A polyfilter will work to remove copper (it turns them blue typically), but I wouldn't ever trust a tank with inverts that was copper treated.

This is what I use and they can be regenerated as well: Poly Filter

I'd just do a 10 gallon water change and then do 5gal weekly after that and run your charcoal.

Thanks!
I will never put inverts in it-no need since I have a separate setup for QT that's never been used for copper
